This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 13, 2007:
I would choose to be a Buddhist. I like and adhere to the principles of non violence, non materialism and the freedome of choice that is inclusive to Budda's precepts. I would rather stay an International Spiritual Minister as we try to glean the best from all the Great Truth systems. We just to not have Monks or Nuns in our tradition.

Help

I am already a Buddhist monk. I was ordained at the tender age of 8. It was my parents who decided as a custom to ordain me for about couple of weeks. Later I somehow stayed on a few more years. I think it was because of my karma to grow up with other monks there. I tried to go back home several times, because I couldn't stay without my mom, but something was pulling me to stay in the boundaries of a monastary. The abbot saw that I was rather gifted and talented, so when I turned 14 he sent me to Sri Lanka to study under Ven. Prof. KL Dhammajoti. There under him, I completed 5 years of intensive training in classical Buddhist scriptures of Pali and Sanskrit and also some chinese. I was also taught many areas of Buddhist Philosophy and Literature coupled with daily pujas and meditation. Now I am on the edge of finishing my Bachelor degree and soon be joining University of California, Berkeley for my Masters Degree.
